Thank You from FOJAM

We are so appreciative of the entire JAMS community for their support of our outstanding Music program. It was wonderful to see so many non-music students, school neighbors as well as the parent community at the final Band, Choir & Orchestra concerts this past week. We want to acknowledge all of the people who work behind the scenes making these events run smoothly; from the folks who run the sound and lighting, to the people who help move instruments and seating to the stage, to the parents who provide items and/or work at the bake sales, design the programs and work at the door, it all makes a difference. And of course all the hard work that the students put in both in and outside of school.

And most importantly, thank you to the wonderful, dedicated, hardworking music directors at JAMS: Alex Gagiu, Emily Schaefer, Katrina Sibicky and department head, Deb Schaaf, along with teaching interns Reshard Radford and Elizabeth Harris Scruggs. This music program wouldn’t be as successful as it has been without you and your herculean efforts, including countless weekend hours, enthusiasm, and the drive that it takes to encourage and motivate students to take music to heart. Over 50 percent of the student population participates in one or more music programs at JAMS, and there is always room for more, so please get in touch if you’d like more information about how to participate and/or volunteer with FOJAM.

Our final Jazz concert will be held at the Stone Way Café, 2510 Stone Way N, in Wallingford on Sunday, June 19th starting at 5:00. Hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Karen Bullard & Catherine Peng
